The Joburg Reporter today launches TJR100 Creators, a special editorial campaign profiling 100 South African content creators who are shaping digital culture in 2026.

The purpose of this campaign is not to create a competitive ranking system, but rather to document, celebrate, and amplify the stories behind the creators who influence online culture across a wide range of industries.

Through TJR100 Creators, we aim to humanise content creators by exploring their journeys, challenges, motivations, successes, and the realities of life behind the screen. Audiences often consume content without fully understanding the work, sacrifices, creativity, and personal experiences that go into building an online presence.

This initiative seeks to bridge that gap by bringing creators closer to their audiences through meaningful storytelling.

The campaign focuses on cultural impact, creativity, consistency, innovation, storytelling, and influence within each creator’s respective niche. Rather than ranking creators from 1 to 100, TJR100 Creators groups individuals into categories and features them equally within those categories, ensuring that every story receives the recognition it deserves.

From food and fashion to motoring, sport, home and living, technology, travel, entertainment, and beyond, TJR100 Creators celebrates the diverse voices helping shape South Africa’s digital landscape.

Nominations are now officially open. Members of the public, brands, agencies, industry peers, and creators themselves are invited to nominate outstanding South African content creators who are making an impact within their communities and industries. Nominate your favourite creators here on the comment section!
