South African sneaker brand Bathu gathered creatives for the launch of its new range, The Volt.
The event was hosted at the Luxx Venue in Sandton last night. It was not too far from where Theo Baloyi sold his first pair of sneakers nearly a decade ago.

The night’s theme was electric neo chic, which spoke directly to the vibrancy of the range. Some of the country’s well-known media personalities like Zille Wizzy, Major Steez, Touchline, and Dear Bheki were in attendance. Actress and content creator Neo Rapetsoa was the launch MC.

The brand announced a new partnership with media personality and rapper, Boity, as the face of the fresh range. From neon brights to thick soles, the collection is set to embody comfort and style.
Founder and group CEO Theo Baloyi said that the collaboration could not have come at a better time. He also added that plans of making the brand global are in the pipeline. ” When Bathu started, the goal was to have 5 stores and employ 20 people. Now we have 20 stores and 500 employees,” Baloyi added.
For Boity, the shoe is about everyday style. She said that although she’s the face of the range, the sneaker is not just for women. “There’s something for everyone.
If you look at my team, everyone has a different pair,” Thulo said. The Wuz Dat hit maker says this is her way of coming out of a hiatus. She said that, as a friend of the brand, the partnership is an honor.
The sneaker range is versatile as it adds a stylish touch to an outfit.
Whether one wants to go for a sporty look or a formal outfit for the boardroom, The Volt puts a bolt in your step. What sets the collection apart is the practicality, bright colours and its unisex nature.
